Linda Rogers is a novelist, essayist, editor and songwriter and also past Victoria Poet Laureate and Canadian People’s Poet. She has published twenty-nine books, appeared in a number of anthologies and been awarded national and international literary prizes. She lives in Victoria, taking dictation from her crow friends.
Jude Neale is a Canadian poet, vocalist, spoken word performer and mentor. She publishes frequently in journals, anthologies, and e-zines. She was shortlisted, highly commended and finalist for many international competitions including: The Gregory O’Donoghue International Poetry Prize (Ireland), The International Poetic Republic Poetry Prize (U.K),The Mary Chalmers Smith Poetry Prize (UK), The Wenlock International Poetry Competition (UK) and the Carers International Poetry Prize (UK).
Kyle Hawke has been writing and performing spoken word for over two decades, often accompanied by a band. He's currently working on his first collection of poetry, whispers of humanity, to be published along with art by Wade Edwards this November.
Ian Ferrier’s trademark is a blend of whispered and spoken word and electric guitar. He has performed in over 500 shows in Canada, the United States and Europe. He has released two CDs and four books, the most recent of which is the illustrated A Child Sees Winter Coming and a Bear Dreams, which launches on Gabriola Island on July 28th .Ian is a founder of the online magazine litlive.ca, of the monthly Words & Music Show—now in its 17 th year—and of Montreal’s annual Mile End Poets’ Festival. He currently creates and presents voice and music works with the spoken word & dance company For Body and Light (http://forbodyandight.org
). Their shows have been presented in New York and in every major city in Canada.
