This training will be focused on the system behind the powerful practice of Yoga Nidra, or psychic sleep. Over the course of 5 days, we will be exploring the underlying principles of Yoga Nidra and how the full benefits of this practice can be realized by the individual and effectively shared to continue transferring the benefits on. We tend to have tons of different things we do to engage us – sports, activities, cooking, cleaning, etc.; most of our day is enveloped in
movement or engagement of some kind.
The art of Yoga Nidra is to be fully present in awareness, but not engaged in the fluctuations that are typical of our normal mental and physical processes. In this way, we can realize the full potential of our prana, or our vital life force, and its regenerative nature.
We will be exploring the underlying principles of Yoga Nidra including (but not limited to):
Physiological basis for the practice
Script components and structure
Delivery methodology and set-up
Sankalpa or intention setting principles
And; we will explore the philosophical basis of how deep meditative practice such as Yoga Nidra fit within the system of Yogic Principles, and why this practices can be so
Not only will we be exploring the purpose of these techniques in an intellectual and theoretical way, but we will be solidifying the concepts into our understanding of the delivery by engaging
in the applied practice; led practice will be offered as an example of delivery method as well as serving as an example of the great healing properties of the practice, as well as supported
practice time in small groups with feedback components to gain comfort with the skill of teaching the practice of Yoga Nidra.
