Hey UBC, are you ready to #BreakUpWithBigOil
and find a new Valentine?
Love is universal and so is climate change. This Valentine’s, we’re breaking up with Big Oil, and so should UBC. While UBC prides itself on its sustainability initiatives, the university continues to invest millions in the fossil fuel industry. As students, we are calling on UBC to be a leader in addressing climate change and divest from big oil.
To help UBC get out of this terrible relationship, join us to take an aerial photo in the shape of an 'X' that represents divestment! We need to show UBC how much we care and concern about its relationship!

In 2019, we’re saying Thank U, Next to toxic relationships. No one should have to play dirty to win the heart of a carbon-free future for generations to come. It’s tough but we have to let go and move on. No more fracking with our hearts.
About the venue:
We acknowledge that this event is taking place on the traditional, ancestral, unceded and occupied Indigenous territory of the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ speaking xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) people.
The xʷməθkʷəy̓əm territory on which UBC is situated was never surrendered, relinquished, or handed over by xʷməθkʷəy̓əm to Canada or British Columbia through a treaty or other means; it is sovereign and unsurrendered.
UBCC350 is a political climate action group that aims to use the power of collective action to promote climate justice. We aim to hold UBC accountable to its students and ensure that the University lives up to its vision of “exemplifying all aspects of economic, environmental, and social sustainability.” As part of the global divestment movement, we are pushing UBC to divest from fossil fuels in recognition that their investments support an industry responsible for climate change.
